Here's what most buyers focus on: per-unit pricing. What they completely miss is the cost of uncertainty. When you're ordering an enzyme that builds polymers for a critical R&D batch, or sourcing polymer tip bullets for a specialized application, you're not just buying a product. You're buying a guarantee that it will work, arrive on time, and not have surprise fees.
The question everyone asks is 'what's your best price?' The question they should ask is 'what's included in that price?' I've tested six different ways to vet vendors for rush polymer orders. The one that works best: ask for a full cost breakdown, including all potential add-ons, before the first quote. The vendors who hesitate or get defensive are the ones who'll surprise you later.
